Common street tree in San Francisco - highly invasive in other, warmer areas of the country, particularly south Florida

The flowers are small, white, and entirely unremarkable. The first year I noticed them I had such anticipation. The emerging new growth and developing inflorescences looks terribly promising for a good show later on. Alas, it was not the case.
